Social life is still a challenge to some people at Dumela in Malamulele

A78 year old Magogo lives alone in a poor leaking Roundavel house in Dumela village in Malamulele. Magogo has been applying for RDP house in Dumela village. Magogo says “I have been applying for RDP house for the past 5 years and the headman and royal council say I do not qualify because I live alone. Mrs. Baloyi said she is desperate. She also said that when ANC came to power in the year 1994 she felt happy and confident that she will get a RDP house, but it is not meant to be.
She does not even have toilet. When nature calls her she goes to the bush. Many residents in this place have got RDP houses and toilets as the benefits from ANC government. She said that she wished one day having a house as other residents in the village. Magogo says “I do not want any house or toilet from anyone, I am tired of this”. This is because she has been declined so many times.
When it rains at night Magogo says “my house leaks very much and only her neighbors come to rescue her and give warm blankets because the house becomes wet and she cannot sleep in it. Magogo says I went to Dumela tribal for enquiries about her declined RDP house appeal. Mr. John Maluleke, tribal official at Dumele tribal said it was on process.
